We have a few words from Angel:

Agora: Congratulations, Angel! What is the article about?

Angel: Thank you! This study explores Hong Kong primary teachers’ views on embedding values education in English by interviews and finds mixed reactions, practical challenges, and tensions between agency and policy.

Agora: How did you revise the project from an HP to a published article?

Angel: My honours project was published with the support of my advisor. He guided me in submitting the manuscript to multiple journals, refining the data analysis, and strengthening the article by incorporating additional peer-reviewed literature. The review process was relatively timely, but reviewers requested clarifications and further details, like regarding the study design and the rationale behind it. We revised the manuscript twice before receiving the publication confirmation email. This experience was demanding, but it was worthwhile, and it improved my research and academic writing skills as we need to respond to reviewer feedback.

Agora: Do you have a message to students who are working on their HPs/Capstones?

Angel: For those still working on an Honours Project or Capstone, keep working hard and dream big. I know it can be difficult to identify a meaningful research topic at the beginning. Start by exploring and researching areas you are  interested in. Then, review the research gaps mentioned by other authors and consider whether you can study one of those gaps. With AI, finding and reviewing information can be faster and more efficient. You can also use tools like Consensus to search for peer-reviewed literature, although it may sometimes provide translated versions of research articles originally written in other languages.
