Hong Kong Baptist University’s English Poetry Contest (Unpublished Work) 2017, co-organised by the Department of English, the Department of Humanities and Creative Writing, and the International Writers Workshop (IWW), is now accepting entries. All students who submit poems will have the opportunity to join a workshop with two IWW visiting writers. Please read the guidelines carefully, which can be found here, before submitting your poetry. Closing date: Friday 20 October 2017.
Six of the winning poems from the contest in 2015 can be read on Agora, while the winning poems from the contest in 2016 will be published in Issue 4 of EDGE: HKBU Creative Journal, out in November/December 2017.
This year, RTHK Radio 3 is partnering with Hong Kong Free Press and free expression NGO PEN Hong Kong to run Hong Kong’s Top Stories 2017, a fiction competition open to all. Stories (each no more than 2,000 words) inspired by a photograph by Fan Ho can be sent to topstory@rthk.hk. Find out more information here. Closing date: Friday 10 November 2017.
